What can you expect from tofu cat litter?
If you have always bought bentonite cat litter, Hoopo Tofu litter is a big change for both you and your cat. Most cat staff never want to go back to other cat litter after trying Tofu. Why is that? And what can you expect in terms of scent?
Dust-free and lightweight
Most cat owners have hauled heavy bags of bentonite litter at some point. Once you open such a bag, things get dusty. And as for hauling it: most cat litter is pretty heavy. If you buy it at the store, it’s probably not your favorite errand. Our Tofu cat litter puts an end to both of these inconveniences for cat staff. The litter is virtually dust-free and much lighter than other cat litter!
Economical and sustainable
Before you know it, it’s time to buy another bag of cat litter. With Hoopo Tofu cat litter, that’s a thing of the past. Our cat litter forms clumps very efficiently, so you waste fewer granules. Because the odor control is also highly effective, you need to refill the litter box less often. So, a bag of Hoopo Tofu or Tofu Fine will last you quite a long time.
Scent
Scent is personal and can differ from person to person. What’s more, your cat has a much stronger nose than you do. Tofu Naturel cat litter has a naturally fresh, natural scent. While many cat litters smell neutral or like sand - and clay, Tofu has a fresh undertone. Just like with all other cat litter, you will need to keep the litter box clean.
In addition to our Tofu Naturel and Tofu Fine Naturel, we offer both Tofu and Tofu Fine granules in scented varieties. With our Hoopo Baby Powder and Hoopo Lavender varieties, you can tackle unpleasant odors more effectively. Both our baby powder and lavender scents are fresh but remain subtle. The scent shouldn’t become too strong for your cat, otherwise they’ll come and complain to you.
What is the difference between Tofu Naturel and Tofu Fine?
Our Tofu Naturel is our classic tofu cat litter: the pellets look just like ‘chocolate sprinkles’ and are completely dust-free. The granules are soft enough for cat paws and extremely economical to use.
Tofu Fine cat litter consists of smaller tofu pellets and is super-soft for cat paws. Our Tofu Fine is therefore also very suitable for small kittens (the fragrance-free Tofu Fine Naturel, that is).
Both Tofu and Tofu Fine are economical to use and dust-free, but our ‘classic’
Tofu Naturel is the very best choice when it comes to sustainability and dust formation.
Combine Tofu cat litter for the best texture and scent
Did you know that you can also combine all our Tofu varieties to create the ideal litter for you and your cat? You can mix Tofu Naturel with Tofu Lavender or Tofu Baby Powder, for example. This way, you keep the scent subtle for both you and your cat while adding extra odor control. You can do the same with Tofu Fine: combine the Naturel variety of Tofu Fine with one of our lovely scents.
Another option is to combine Tofu cat litter with Tofu Fine litter. This gives your cat extra softness under their paws.
Mixing Tofu cat litter to help your cat get used to it
Are you introducing our Tofu litter to your cat for the first time? Then we recommend gradually mixing it with their current cat litter. If you are both happy with Hoopo Tofu, you can keep adding a little more. When that goes well, you can switch completely to Hoopo Tofu cat litter.
The same trick works well if you want to help your cat get used to scented tofu cat litter, such as baby powder or lavender: add it gradually to see whether your cat is okay with it.
Tofu cat litter and our smart Magna cat litter box
All Hoopo products are designed to make life easier for you and your cats. That’s why they are all designed to work together, including our tofu cat litters and Magna automatic cat litter box! You can use all Tofu varieties in the Magna. For optimal performance, we recommend mixing Tofu and Tofu Fine. The Magna will work best with 50% Tofu and 50% Tofu Fine. This combination ensures optimal flow of the granules when the Magna cleans itself.
In the Magna, you can of course also choose to use Tofu or Tofu Fine cat litter in the baby powder or lavender scents.
